KySTE Call for Board Nominations

Join the KySTE Team!

The Kentucky Society for Technology in Education (KySTE) Executive Council seeks individuals interested in helping move Kentucky forward with technology in education to run for open offices on the KySTE Board. We value input that helps us, as an organization, better serve Kentucky's students, as well as CIO's/DTC's and other education technology professionals throughout the Commonwealth through better communications with Legislators, KDE, KIDS, Superintendents, and other key players in our field.

Nominations are now open for the following officers and representatives for terms to begin July 1, 2017:

• Vice President (3 year commitment– the holder of this office automatically becomes president, then past president - must have prior KySTE Board experience)
• Parliamentarian (2 year position)
• ISTE Liaison (2 year position)
• Treasurer (2 year position)
• Regional Representatives from each of Regions 1, 3, 5, and 7 (2 year position)

Nominations are open to any current member of KySTE, with the exception of Vice President, who needs to have prior KySTE Board experience. You may nominate someone else, or you may self-nominate. Full responsibilities for each of these offices are located HERE.

All executive committee officers are elected by a full vote of the KySTE membership.  Regional Representatives are elected by a vote of CIO/DTCs of their region.

Members of the 2016-17 nomination committee are: Greta Casto, Vice President; Susan Vincentz, President; Cheri Gossett, Past President.  All nominees will be notified by one of the committee members by January 13, 2016 to confirm acceptance of the nomination.

Timeline

• December 9, 2016 - Nominations open
• January 9, 2017 - Nominations due
• January 16, 2017 - All Nominees contacted no later than this date
• January 23, 2017 - Nominees submit additional info (resume/interest paragraph) no later than this date
• January 30, 2017 - All information posted on KySTE website
• February 1, 2017 - Voting begins
• February 17, 2017 - Voting ends

Winners will be contacted as soon as possible after February 17th, and will be announced at the KySTE Spring Conference in March.
