KySTE 2015 Call
for Presenters

#KySTE15,
the conference of the Kentucky Society for Technology in
Education, invites you to present. Nearly 2,000 information
technology leaders, technicians, network specialists, tech
resource/integration specialists, classroom teachers,
administrators/district leaders, library media specialists,
instructional technology teachers, and other education professionals
are expected to attend. Share your methods, experiences, and successes!
Approved
presenters attend the conference for free!
This year’s conference theme is “Welcome to the Future”
Session
Formats
Conference sessions are 45
minutes in length, using one of the following formats:
- Presentations
provide an opportunity for participants to learn about innovative,
effective programs and practices in a lecture format.
- Computer
labs provide 30-workstations for hands-on software and
other trainings, with provision for additional observers. (Only a
limited number of labs are available -- we cannot guarantee one.)
- Intelligent
Classroom sessions leverage interactive white boards and
other "intelligent classroom" tools. (If your presentation is
brand-specific, please tell us!)
- Bring
your Own Laptop/Personal Device leverage conference wifi
coverage to support laptops or personal devices (smart phones,
tablets/iPads, etc.). Sessions attendees can bring their own devices
for online activities and "software in the cloud."

Education

on...
- Enterprise-level
technology for district selection, deployment, support, and training.
- Hardware
selection, deployment, and support..
- Emerging
education and enterprise technologies.
- Technology-driven
classroom resources, practices, and ideas.
- Technology use
in support of the Common Core and Next Generation Standards.
- Multimedia in
the district, school, and classroom.
- Ideas which
leverage connections (real-time or otherwise) across distances.
- Hybrid/blended, "flipped," and distance education tools and strategies.
- Assistive
technology/Universal Design for Learning.

Session
Strands
- Technical
- Sessions should be about the acquisition, installation, and support
of technologies which support anything from district workflow to
classroom instruction. Sessions should be directed at district
technology leadership, district or school technicians, or anyone with
an interest in information technology.
- Instructional
- Sessions should be about the selection
and use of any education technology in support of teaching and
learning. They should be directed at classroom teachers and those who
support them (tech integration specialists/resource teachers).
- Leadership
- Sessions should be about education
technology policy and use issues, directed at district or school
leadership.
- Library/Media

Sessions should be about issues of library management, including
e-books/e-readers, tablets, and other reading/instructional media. They
should be directed at library/media specialists and those who support
them.
Session
Levels
- Introductory
- Sessions should present concepts that
require no or base level technology knowledge. Participants will
understand concepts without having discipline-specific knowledge.
- Intermediate
- Sessions should present concepts that
require an introductory to intermediate level of technology knowledge.
Discipline-specific concepts may be presented.
- Advanced
- Session will present concepts that require an advanced understanding
of the presentation's targeted technology. Discipline-specific
knowledge will be presented, where relevant.
