Dr. Tim Tyson, the "Pied-Piper of Educational Technology", worked for 30 years in the field of education as both a teacher and an administrator. Before his retirement, he served 6 years in the role of Principal at Mabry Middle School. Dr. Tyson's educational philosophy prioritizes meaningful, authentic student engagement. Visit MabryOnline.org, the school's site for two years until June 2007 when it was archived as an example of best practices.

By leveraging technology resources and implementing project-based activities, Mabry Middle School became world-renowned. In 2001 Dr. Tyson created the Annual Mabry Film Festival, a formal gala of Oscars caliber. Here, Mabry students are recognized for their exemplary productions. These films provide evidence not only for technology integration at Mabry, but also for Mabry's implementation of project-based learning that provides students with engaging and authentic activities. (Please take some time to view a few of the films found on the link above. It's wonderful to see 11, 12, and 13 year-olds perform at such high levels.)

We hope to see you on the 5th!
