News From the KySTE Board Conference Call

KySTE will be having their traditional face-to-face board meeting Sunday, Oct. 27. The agenda will include conference planning, awards and scholarships, grant offerings, and KySTE participation in events and programs in Kentucky. Do you have suggestions for us? Planning Committee

This committee is in charge of planning KySTE events, including the Fall Event and Spring Conference.

  • Fall Event: Registration is in the wild! See above for links. The Event website includes a few of the offerings scheduled so far, with many more coming.  Note new date and location: Monday, Oct. 28, Lexington Convention Center.
  • KySTE 2014: The conference "Call for Presenters" deadline Oct. 15. Read the "Call for presenters" information email here (vendors: your email is slightly different, available here).

Budget Committee

The Budget Committee submitted its audit for fiscal year 2012-13, prepared by KySTE Board Accountant Ken Drane. :

  • Income: $408,834.15
  • Expenses: $: $311,369.06
  • Net: $97,275 (KySTE Outreach grant disbursements)

Marketing Committee

KySTE membership has reached 180! Since the overwhelming majority of members join through KySTE's conference and event registrations, this is an unusual membership count so early this year. Do you know anyone who should join? Forward this newsletter, and ask! Membership dues are used primarily to fund KySTE Outreach (see below).

Awards, Governance, and Nominating committees had no items for this board meeting. 

Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA)

As discussed at the board meeting, KySTE is exploring affiliation and possible future partnerships with KASA. Are you a member? Let us know what you think!

KySTE Outreach News

KySTE Outreach KySTE Outreach's fall grant offering has been delayed slightly, but will be released shortly. The total offering this year will be $80,000. As per last year, applicants will be allowed to ask for part or all of this total. Watch for an announcement coming soon!
