Awards, Grants, and Scholarships.
This
newsletter contains the full list of awards for the 2014-15 school
year. KySTE thanks its dues-paying members, and the contributions of
our Platinum Vendor Partners, for providing KySTE the ability to
support its mission through its awards, grants, and scholarships.
KySTE
Awards
Every
year, at its annual conference, KySTE recognizes outstanding
contributions to its mission, and the mission of improving education
through the effective support of use of technology tools. Below are
the winners of each award for 2014-15.
- Outstanding Teacher: Tina Record (Pendleton County)
- Outstanding Leader: Leanna Prater (Fayette County)
- Outstanding Tech Support: Jason Reis (Walton Verona)
- Making IT Happen: David Sigler (KDE/posthumous)
The Awards application window generally opens in October, and closes in
December. Nominations are accepted from members only. For more

KySTE
Outreach Awards for 2014-15STLP Scholarships
These
yearly scholarships are given to outstanding STLP seniors at the annual
STLP State Competition each spring. This year, we had a record
number of applicants! $1,000 scholarships
were awarded to each of the following students:
- Cannon Cornelius (Christian County)
- Cejay Moore (Warren County)
- Owen Posey (Warren County)
- Sriyanshi "Chinee" Suryadevara
(Fayette
County)
Scholarship
applications generally open in October, with a deadline in January. For
more information on this scholarship, see our page on

Grant Awards
Once
again this year, KySTE awarded over $100,000 in grants to successful
applicants across the state. Six grant winners are listed below, with
the total of each award.
- Computer Education Center
(Jefferson
County Public Schools): $25,482.00
- Barren Academy of Virtual &
Expanded Learning (BAVEL - Barren County Schools): $3,080.00
- Eminence Independent High School
(Eminence Independent Schools): $9,268.66
- Northern Elementary School
(Pendleton
County Schools): $20,798.00
- Henry County High (Henry County
Schools):
$21,461.30
- Crossroads Elementary (Bullitt
County
Public Schools): $19,969.25
